Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978, was the child of Asalia Nazario, and Aridio Saldana. She was born in New Jersey's Passaic to Asalia Nazario and aridio Saldana. Her mother is Puerto Rican and her father was Dominican. She and her family moved from Queens, New York, to the Dominican Republic when she was 10-years-old; they stayed in the Dominican Republic for 7 years. Zoe noticed a strong interest in performing dances while being abroad. She started training at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in order to master ballet as well as many different dance styles.
